Andis 22360 AGC Super 2-Speed The Andis 22360 AGC Super 2-Speed Professional Animal Clipper is the ultimate set of heavy duty professional dog grooming clippers on the market.  It is an extra step up in speed and price from its competitor, the Oster A5 Turbo 2-Speed Clippers.  It has a powerful rotary motor (all professional clippers have rotary motors) that runs cool and cuts at 3400 and 4400 strokes per minute.

These clippers are good for those who have pets (dogs, cats, horses) with heavy coats where weaker clippers will take a long time to use or aren’t strong enough for the coat.  You’ll also want to consider these if you have many pets that need frequent grooming, want to save time, and want a set of clippers that will last for years.  Also very appropriate for those who are professional groomers.

Where To Buy?

I highly recommend that you buy these from Amazon.com (check their current price) because they usually have it for around 25% off.  You can also have free shipping with these as well.  There are about 138 reviews on Amazon, which means many more people have bought them there. They aren’t the most inexpensive clippers.  However, you’ll find that you’ll save tons of money and time from sending your dog to a groomer or doing the grooming yourself with a weaker set of clippers.  They’ll pay themselves off in no time.

Is It Good For My Dog’s Breed?

Well, it depends.  These clippers are good for all dog breeds and will do great work on any job.  However, depending on your pet, you’ll have to ask yourself if it’s worth it.  I’d get these clippers for bigger dogs where grooming is essential and more frequent.  You need a set of clippers backed by a reputable company, like Andis, to cut well and perform many grooming sessions.  However, if you have a smaller dog where grooming is not demanding and you can easily get by with a cheaper, less powerful clipper, then you should go that route.  You can find high quality but less powerful and less expensive clippers on this site.

Do They Run Hot?

These clippers, as well as all clippers, are going to get hot with extended use.  It’s the nature of all clippers when you have metal rubbing and vibrating against each other.  However, these clippers do cool off very quickly.  Often, you’ll find that a heat issue isn’t a problem because grooming won’t take that long.  The clippers don’t have vents like other clippers, it really doesn’t need it.  If you think grooming will take longer because of your pet, I’d advise getting a cooling spray with your clippers.  They are very cheap.

How Well Do They Cut?

These clippers are pretty powerful.  They cut at two speeds, 3400 and 4400 strokes per minute.  Its competitor cuts at 3000 and 4000.  Many of the reviews say that it cuts like a hot knife through butter.  The Andis 22360 AGC Super 2-Speed Clippers use a rotary motor, which is very characteristic of professional style clippers.

How Quiet Are They?

Surprisingly quiet!  You’d expect powerful clippers to be extra loud, but this isn’t the case with these.  This is a huge bonus for those who have pets that will take fleet at the sound of dog grooming clippers.

What Kind Of Blades Can I Use With It?

You can use all of Andis UltraEdge and CeramicEdge blades, as well as Oster’s A5 blades.  These give you a gigantic selection to choose from.   While some blades work with all dogs, check out my blade guide to determine which blades might be better to use for your dog

User Reviews

On Amazon.com, they are over 130 user reviews that have given it an average rating of 4.4/5 stars, which is huge!  You can read all of the reviews here.  Here are a collection of re-written pros and cons from those reviews.

“One of my most favorite things about these clippers is that feel very well built and that they aren’t very noisy at all.  Me and my husband find it hilarious that they are so much more powerful than human clippers.”

“I tried an Oster set of clippers that I bought from Walmart for my dog that has an extremely thick coat.  But, they couldn’t cut it.  I bought these from Amazon and they did the job just fine.”

“I have a Chow and I have to frequently take her to a groomer to get her shaved down because of skin and coat allergies.  Once I bought these clippers, I was able to do the grooming myself and had her full coat groomed I 1.5 hours.”

“These clippers do run great, but they do run hot.  Have to use some cooling spray to keep them cool.”

“I wouldn’t recommend using this clipper with the #10 UltraEdge blade that it comes with.  I’d get the CeramicEdge blade that runs a lot cooler and last longer.”

These are a powerful set of clippers. You should only get them because your pets coat demands them or you want to make a smart investment in some pet clippers that are going to last you a long time.  However, if you have a smaller pet with less grooming needs, I’d setting for a cheaper and less powerful set of clippers
